Hi, I’m Lisa Lau. I have two kids–Sabrina, age 19 and in her second year at Community College, and Alex, age 13. Sabrina went to public school kindergarten while Alex has never been to a brick and mortar school. I work part time at a dance studio as office manager in St. Charles, do freelance bookkeeping, homeschool my son, and now teach at TEC.
This is my first year with TEC. I’m looking forward to making new friends and expanding my son’s education through TEC. I’ve heard great things from others about this group and finally decided to get involved!
This year I will be teaching one class. My class is “History Comes Alive–The Medieval Period + Armor of God” for the Grades 2-3. We will explore the Middle Ages in a fun way. Castles, kings, and queens. From weaponry to cooking to daily life, the class will be fun and interactive and will involve “becoming” a Middle Ages dweller.
I live about three blocks from the new North Aurora location. I look forward to hopefully never being late for class. My home is open for visits!
In my spare time (?) I love to craft, sew, garden, can food, and I am a trained Weatherspotter. I do NOT chase tornadoes, but they fascinate me as long as nobody gets hurt. I’m studying for my ham radio license and I help out at my son’s Boy Scout Troop 21.
I can’t wait for the year to get started!
